In 20**, we came into possession of a portion of the materials from someone’s archive. The person who handed them over to us could not provide any specific information about the owner, except that he had recently passed away after a brief illness, and that he left behind neither relatives nor acquaintances willing to deal with his seemingly insignificant legacy.
Thereby we found ourselves in possession of a box containing a dozen black-and-white wide-format slides, a stack of numbered cardboard cards with indecipherable diagrams, and a set of high-quality prints and ink drawings depicting various capriccios.
Almost the entire corpus of restored materials makes up the content of this book. Since we initially assigned ourselves the role of compilers and restorers, the materials collected in this edition are deliberately not accompanied by scientific comments, interpretations, or notes. We believe that a direct look will bring the reader closer to discover the author’s intent.
