It is all started with 78m2 area of open space in a high-rise residential building. This intended to be a new home for a single young man. Thanks to the wide openings and perfect building orientation, the initial space discovers rich aspects of natural light throughout a day. The design strategy was based on a simple idea to retain the first impression of an open, transparent space full of light and to arrange it with warmth of natural materials. One of the brief point requested the use of wood and maximum storage. Our intervention was a set of primitives (box objects) carefully packed into a given boundaries, each providing its own functional program: the white cupboard-wall, the mirror pillar, the wooden laundry box, etc. The chosen materials (light oak, grey basalt, clear and frosted glass, black painted metal, shades of white for walls and ceiling), the scale, the order and sequence of these primitives — is an attempt to visualize the rational language of designed space.
